Today marks the 70th anniversary of victory in Europe, at the end of World War II in Europe. It's important that our future generations are made aware of these historic events and how they have shaped the world they grow up in today and how it could have been so different.
I must admit I have to refer to Google and BBC websites when giving my offspring history lessons as I'm hopeless at retaining dates. I'm also fascinated by the lesser known facts relating to the war efforts, such as Hitler was a vegetarian and British spies planned to smuggle oestrogen into his food to make him less aggressive.
Whatever I do today I'll make sure my children are aware of this monumental anniversary and the sacrifice made by hundreds of thousands of Britons who fought for their country's independence.

Today I'm layering neutrals and black with a French Connection cream silk cami under a H&M cream silk shirt, worn with my Zara skinny black jeans and my M&S Per Una linen mix coat.
My ankle strap shoes are BCBGeneration from TK Maxx and have a snake print heel and strap to add another texture to the overall look. Don't be afraid to mix pattern or textures especially if they are from the same colour palette.
I've also gone for an on trend khaki eyeshadow mixed with creams and gold, though I know it's not immediately obvious! Mix up your make-up for an easy way to update your look.
