I've hankered after a new pair of stylish PJ's for a while now; ever since I saw the gorgeous animal print Yolke pair modelled by Lucy Williams, of Fashion Me Now.

Since they cost £325 I haven't yet purchased a pair but what I have purchased, at a fraction of the price, are these sophisticated black with white piping PJ's from Oysho, the little known sister company of Zara and an offspring of the behemoth that is the Inditex group.

I defy you to visit their website and not pop something into your basket; there is definitely something for everyone! Whether it be a novelty, cosy fleece or a sophisticated velvet house robe, left, Oysho is the affordable destination for loungewear.

For those placing exercise high up on their New Years resolution list you may want to take a look at the yoga, run or basics range on offer to motivate you in style; and for those hitting powder this ski season the seamless merino wool base layers are worth investing in.

They also do underwear and if you loved Meghan Markle's sheer black bodice Ralph & Russo couture gown then this X-mas essential lace bodysuit at £29.99 could be your key piece over the festive period!

So here I am tapping my final post of the year in my slinky new pyjamas and all that's left to say is thank you to all those that have read my blog over 2017, even though over the last couple of months mumsweardaily has become more mumswearasandwhen, due to my additional puppy responsibilities!

Have a very merry Christmas with your nearest and dearest, relax, smile and savour those precious moments that happen amongst the mayhem. I hope to get back on track in the new year with regular, honest and authentic posts of my style and more outfit builders that may just inspire you, so do pop back on the 8th January.

And so to bed.......for now, from www.mumsweardaily.com

Early this morning I was out in the darkness of the garden, waiting for the puppy to do his business, when I noticed how clear the sky was, with a slim crescent moon and a sprinkling of stars; and thought there are some advantages of getting up that early!

I also saw the Super moon last week, although I didn't realise it at the time, for the same reason. Tonight there are reports of a 'magical Geminid meteor shower' and I seem to be taking a lot more notice of what's happening in our night skies ever since my eldest had homework where he had to look out for the Blood moon. As we live in a town, with too much light pollution, we ended up in the car in PJ's for a short jaunt to the beach to get a glimpse of it!

Even when I've been lucky enough to travel to parts of the world where the stars seem to be in touching distance I've never been able to name one constellation or recognise one from another, and have been in awe of those that can. So it was with great interest that I read that the University of Birmingham have devised a new set of constellations to inspire the young; although not official anything that may spark children's interest in science and engineering scores points with me. With December being the best time of year to view 'Paddington Bears Boots' I know what I'll be looking out for tomorrow!

Time for thermals!

Today I'm wearing my most recent purchase, the J.Crew Matte Chelsea Boots in camouflage; which I finally managed to pick up from the post office after missing the delivery, not finding the 'missed you' card and wondering where on earth they could have got to. After an email to J.Crew customer services they assured me it was with a zillion other parcels waiting for collection at the main depot.

I'm really pleased with them but note I did go up a half size after reading a few reviews and knowing I'd probably be wearing them with thicker socks. I normally wear a UK 5, EU 38, usually a US 7.5 but went for a US 8 and they're the perfect size.

Here I've teamed them with Lee skinny jeans, Uniqlo flannel check shirt, over a Uniqlo heattech t-shirt, Maje parka, cable knit hat, Dents sheepskin gloves, similar here, all old. However today was the first time I've reached for my thermals and I swear by the heattech range from Uniqlo. I've also got some thin M&S Heatgen leggings that I can wear under my skinny jeans, so I thought I'd look for the best of the rest of thermals on the high street at the moment.
Starting with the trademark Heatgen range from M&S this polo neck can easily be layered under an on trend flowy midi dress for extra warmth.

Sweaty Betty Japanese Landscape jacquard pattern leggings £65
If you're booking a ski holiday and looking for a thicker thermal then you can't beat Sweaty Betty for base layers. As well as being stylish they are seamless so no need to worry about uncomfortable kinks. However it seems a shame to cover up these statement Japanese Landscape jacquard pattern leggings with salopettes!

Uniqlo Heattech knitted tights limited offer £9.90
Uniqlo Heattech knitted tights limited offer £9.90
If you want a thermal pair of tights but don't want to feel the heat on your bottom then clever Uniqlo have designed tights that keep you warm from just hip to toe.

The Uniqlo t-shirt in todays outfit builder is the same as my own and with some Heattech styles currently on limited offer now is definitely the time to stock up before we have more snow flurries.

See the rest of my outfit builder below for a 'layering light but keeping warm' outfit, which is similar to my own. Click on the links to shop and thanks for stopping by.
