Happy Halloween from Copenhagen

There's one place to go if you love Halloween and that's Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. Hubby and I were lucky enough to go there last weekend to celebrate my birthday and even a stinky cold couldn't hamper my Halloween spirits when we arrived at the second oldest working amusement park in the world!

Up to a staggering 20,000 pumpkins are used to adorn the park and gardens every October and the luxury Nimb hotel was a magical backdrop to showcase the award winning 'monster' pumpkins.

We bottled out of rides on the aptly named Demon Rollercoaster, Star Flyer and the Golden Tower, even if they do say the views of the city are spectacular, and opted instead for a leisurely ride on the classic carousel. Much more sedate!

It was the only time of the weekend that we wished we'd brought along the children; and we may just have to go again next year for a trick or treat that can't be beaten.

I'll post more about my trip to the beautiful city of Copenhagen in a weeks time when half term finishes. Until then have a Happy Halloween; with all this inspiration I'm off to carve a pumpkin.

The structured Trench

Uniqlo 100% Cashmere
Today I've swapped my trusted Mango flowy trench for my Zara Structured trench coat which gives a more tailored look and, as it's water resistant, is a safer option when there's a risk of showers.

The cashmere has also come out and this is my Uniqlo Cashmere V neck sweater in navy. I wear a Medium size when I'm after a 'neater' fit and a Large when layering shirts underneath. See more of their 100% Cashmere range here.

Lee slim fit dark wash jeans, turned up, burgundy Coccinelle cross body bag and Next Animal Pixie boots, to add a style 'lift', complete todays look.

I've had a lot of people compliment these boots and ask where they're from; they're great value at £60 and give a Charlotte Olympia look without the spend, or ubiquitous cat face embroidery!

By the way I'm also pleased with the Benefit 'Dew the Hoola' liquid bronzer which I mentioned in a previous post. I've been applying it over my Diorskin Nude BB creme to give some colour and it glides on nicely. Do try it if you want a hint of a tan without the gleam, especially now the weather has changed.

It's all in the detail

The 'devil's in the detail' is usually a cautionary idiom but not so when planning an outfit. Usually it's the small details that elevate any look, especially when it comes to choosing jewellery. Rose Gold is the metallic shade thats on trend for this AW season; see this feature at SheerLuxe.com for more inspiration.

There's also a move towards mixing metal finishes together, which looks great when you choose to stack multiple, delicate rings, like these from ALEXI London, below.

This season jewellery has a very Cosmic influence too, which is fitting as I volunteered for a school trip to the South Downs Planetarium this week. It was very illuminating, and definitely worth a visit, hence the lack of post on Tuesday. Anyway back to jewellery; there are lots of Star pendants, shooting star ear crawlers, and slimmer Moons, or as I've learnt a 'Waxing Crescent' shape!

I love this Abstract Star necklace from ALEXI London and after mentioning the brand in a recent post the lovely team at ALEXI London have given mumsweardaily readers a PROMO code MWD10, which will give you a 10% discount, and even better there's no time limit on this promotion, which is perfect for festive pressies!

To receive your 10% discount enter your Coupon code MWD10 at the checkout when ordering online.

I've picked my current favourites below, just click on the text links to shop, and to see more visit ALEXI London jewellery here and thanks for stopping by.
