Life's a picnic

Yeah... it feels like Summer again and when I'm not out and about entertaining the children I like to have a picnic with them in the garden.

I've just bought a fun tropical print picnic rug, see left, and matching cooler bag from M&S. The rug has a waterproof backing which is a lot more practical than a traditional picnic rug and great for trips to the beach.

Today I'm wearing a recent purchase from H&M. I've been looking for a khaki shirt for a while and was tempted by one in Gap, however plumped for this one instead. However I can't find the style on their website so have included a new arrival which I love just as much.

I've teamed it with my Zara skinny soft ripped jeans and khaki green, animal print Havaianas. They are from last year so I've used this seasons bronze pair for a similar look.

Talking of which I've read a lot about a bronze eye being a make-up trend that's more flattering than you may think so I've included a Max Factor eyeshadow palette too.

See my outfit builder below and click on the descriptive text to shop.

Thanks for stopping by.

Going for gold

Another day of the school holidays which means another off-duty look, and today I took my eldest for a taster Archery session. I went to see how he was getting on for the last half hour and the instructor kindly encouraged me to have a go. So I did and, as well as being able to tick it off my bucket list, I surprised myself by getting three out of the ten arrows into the gold! Not bad at all for a novice and my eldest thought it was great fun too.

Here I am wearing a Robin Hood inspired outfit of khaki sleeveless parka, a recent Zara sale purchase, Zara skinny black jeans and my Uniqlo white sweatshirt. Unfortunately they no longer stock the white so I've included the off white version in my outfit builder.

I've also added a new colour way of the Nike Internationalist jacquard trainers as I've featured my black pair several times in previous posts. To shop the look or similar click on the descriptive text below.

It's Ladies day at Glorious Goodwood tomorrow so I thought I would put together a glamorous horse racing inspired look. It maybe too late to buy the look for this weeks Qatar Goodwood festival but it's still a safe bet for any summer special occasion.

Whilst I've chosen a budget friendly fascinator for my outfit builder I love Emily-London who is a preferred Goodwood milliner and has created a collection inspired by the glorious setting of the racecourse itself. My personal favourite is the Hadlow, see left, which is rather more classy and understated than some of the more elaborate confections that maybe on display.
