There's one item that is still going strong and will be an instant SS update if you don't already own one. The item in question is the checked or plaid blazer; the only question is are you going to plump for a grey based check or a beige one?

On Saturday I went to the London Fashion Week Festival for the first time, to meet up with some girlfriends and potter about the pop up stores. I ended up buying more than I bargained for, see below, but was very happy with my purchases! The first thing to catch my eye was this great print wrap dress from Never Fully dressed. I do love a wrap or shirt dress for the Summer, but will wear it now with a black skinny cropped jean and boots, probably with a thermal t-shirt underneath given the current weather system! It feels silky but is actually made from 100% polyester which makes it easier to care for. I paid £60 for it at the LFWF and it's currently on their website at £69, see left, for a better idea of how the style looks actually on. I was tempted by an Anya Hindmarch boxy All over Sticker cross body bag, which had a great discount but it was still £595, so decided to pass. I didn't pass on the Jane Carr 100% silk scarves though. I ended up buying two; one in darker tones. see above left and a larger one in summer brights. I then came across the S'well bottle stand and as I've promoted their bottles several times it was a no brainer and plumped for the design above right. It will definitely elevate my gym kit! Then onto the shoe section where I fell in love with a pair of Julia Mays slouch boots with contrast panel block coloured heels, below. They didn't have my size left which makes the decision making process a lot easier and cheaper! This is one luxury footwear label to watch; Julia designs the range in her London studio and then they're handcrafted in a family run factory in Northern Italy, in keeping with her brand values of 'fair sustainable production' and a 'celebration of art and craftsmanship'. However I did buy a pair of statement two tone French Sole pony skin flats with a buckle. They have a sixties feel about them and will liven up a basic look of skinny jeans and silk shirt. Come Spring I know I'll get my wear out of them so was happy to pay £80 for them when they can retail for about £140.
We finished off our retail therapy and headed for a cocktail in Scarfes Bar at The Rosewood hotel, which was the perfect way to catch up properly with the girls before heading back to the South Coast! Click on the links for more information on the brands I loved and thanks for stopping by. So our concrete effect table finally arrived yesterday at 7.30am. It's been a long time coming as it was actually ordered in November in time for our family Christmas dinner...needless to say we didn't dine on it over the festive period because of a mix up of phone numbers, i.e. they didn't have our correct home number, and didn't think to utilise the email address given! After a tedious delivery rebooking conversation we finalised the new date for yesterday. Here it is in situ, with our Angel & Boho upholstered banquette and chairs. When looking for a new dining table I originally fell in love with West Elms Carraway table, glass top with brass leg frames, on Pinterest, but unfortunately it was no longer available and after searching Ebay and other sources without success I finally gave up. I then completely changed tack and started to look for a cement look table to offset the feminine banquette and floral upholstered chairs we'd bought from Angel&Boho. West Elm Carraway table-not available: Images Pinterest Sticking with West Elm I came across this Tower Dining Table £899, but at the time the lead time was too long, however in hind sight I should have ordered it, as I do prefer the brass effect base! Other contenders with a similar look were from Made and Loaf, see below. Anyway I'm looking forward to our next big family dinner and sourcing stylish ways to dress the table, see below. I've started my Pinterest Board already! Click on the links to shop, have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by.
