About me
The aim of this blog is to help answer the question that most of my friends, family and Wardrobe Wand clients always ask, which is what can I wear with what?
Outfit building is a style challenge that some find effortless (anyone mentioned in a best dressed list), some find difficult, (anyone mentioned in a worst dressed list) and others a daily chore (basically everyone else).
As a fourty plus mum of 2 young children (age 8 & 11) that daily chore has its own constraints. Even though being a mum inevitably means you are outfit building for the little ones you may overlook your own style.
I was in the fashion industry as a buyer for over 10 years and now have my own styling business Wardrobe Wand. I'm also the fashion editor for Talented Ladies Club, an online magazine providing inspiration and advice for working, freelance and business mums.
Of course you don’t need to be a mum to appreciate this blog but that’s my style starting block.
Whilst I love fashion and have done since reading my first Vogue at 14 I am not a fashion slave. I dress appropriately for the occasion so sorry no heels on the school run or sunglasses in drizzle! I wanted it to be an authentic blog so I'll post on various days, in all weather conditions and without a blow dry or hair stylist to hand. The opinions given are my own and are not influenced in any way.
I will endeavor to post every week day, during term times, and show you what I'm wearing along with some style tips and advice. I will use my daily outfits as inspiration so you too can achieve each look with some wardrobe basics. I'll share my recent purchases with you and find alternatives for items that have stood the test of time.
My mantra is value for money and where possible will navigate the high street stores for my blog posts. Whilst I do own some designer items they are definitely the exception to the rule and I honestly believe you can look stylish whatever your budget.
So when you are trawling through your wardrobe on a Monday morning wondering what on earth to wear I hope you find some inspiration from mumsweardaily.com.
