As we look forward to a new year there are some trends that will stick and some that will inevitably fall by the wayside. One that you can be sure will stand the test of time is the trend for the lace up flat ankle boot; with Holly Willoughby's stint in the jungle ensuring it's an accessible 'must have'.

Well if you missed out on purchasing the Grenson 'Nanette' or 'Veronica', the styles were difficult to get hold of before 'I'm a Celebrity' aired and now it's impossible, then I've put together my best of the rest below, which includes my latest and great value purchase from Next, the Signature Comfort Chunky lace up boots, my last wardrobe item of 2018!

Last year I bagged a Preen Studio at Debenhams black velvet midi dress, for a knock down price. (see link for previous post) I'm hoping to have occassion to wear it this festive season but in the meantime I popped online to see if there were any other 'Designer' bargains to snap up.

As with a lot of fashion retailers Debenhams has had its fair share of trading trouble recently and are banking on their new branding and slogan overhaul, 'Do a bit of Debenhams', to put the joy back into the customers shopping experience. Whilst we'll have to wait and see if this gamble pays off in store if you're in the mood to update your wardrobe for Christmas then do take a look at the Designers by Debenhams ranges online.

There's a great H! by Henry Holland jumper for those wanting to don something eye-catching but not necessarily 'Christmas' for this Fridays 'Christmas Jumper day' in aid of Save the Children. 

​Smoulder in something silk instead of your usual PJ's this Christmas eve, with this zingy lime No.1 Jenny Packham's set and do a bit of sparkle on Christmas day in this on trend pleat midi skirt by H! by Henry Holland. 

If you're going to a party on New Year's Eve then sequins are de rigueur to see this year out with a bang; this Preen one shoulder dress certainly fits the bill. It's now in my basket...so which little black number will I end up wearing? This years bargain or last years?  I'll keep you posted!
