As my disposable income doesn't quite stretch to the items I research I like to recreate the looks from my existing items or high street finds. I'm currently debating whether I need a Khaki green Utility jacket for summer (I didn't buy into the Shacket trend) and I feel I'm missing a neutral (khaki), lighter, outerwear option, hence the reason for this exploration!
I love this easy, off duty look from Net-A-Porter, showing this Saint Laurent Utility jacket in one of their 'How to wear it' styling options. Designer label websites, such as Matches, Browns, and Net-A-Porter, are a great resource for inspiration as they often show total outfit views and I regularly visit the sites if I want to rework an item or if I want to purchase something new. See above my findings for a more reasonably priced version of, and below for a similar total outfit that costs just shy 0f £360, a third of the price of the Saint Laurent! The jacket is definitely versatile and suits my personal style; it's shown with a breton top and white jeans, which I own. However I'm still in two minds so I'll sleep on it and keep you posted if I decide to buy one. Click on the links to shop and thanks for stopping by.

This was my outfit yesterday; as I write this I'm currently in my gym kit from this mornings training session! Anyway I went on the school run as above and by pick up I was wearing my Mango flowy trench and Adidas Original Hamburgs, I even put the heating on low! So today my outfit builder is inspired by my short lived ensemble, with the H&M Linen Khaki green joggers and Zara Linen shirt as the key items, with a Spring look on the left and a Summer look on the right. I love the button detail on the linen top which is matched back to the sunglasses frame; Mango has made a perfect bag for the season, cross body, round and bamboo, what's not to love, and I've shown these designer inspired Zara leather sandals before, as they'll go with any Summer outfit. The more structured trench coat is on trend and Mango have a few great styles to choose from including this cotton-blend version. Arket, H&M's newest sister brand, sell the French label Veja as they are ethically sourced, and the O.P.I nail shade is neutral and natural too, just add the asymmetrical double hoop earrings for interest and you have an easy off duty Spring look. So don't get caught out by the weather change and buy core basics that can be styled for both the heat and the showers! Click on the links to shop and thanks for stopping by. However it's not Kate but Megan who has everyone talking about her latest sartorial outfit ensemble. Few of us have the disposable income required to blow £1,450 on a summer dress, but Megan Markle did just that, or she chose to wear this Altuzarra piece to the delight of a press office who had loaned it to her, the hottest endorsement any brand can currently wish for. We can only speculate, like those currently betting on a name for the new royal arrival. However I must say that I was surprised by her choice; a sleeveless, pinafore style was a risky option for a soon to be royal. The shoulder robing blazer made it more modest and appropriate, whilst her choice of footwear was certainly edgier than a nude court! However I felt the dress was more suited to a relaxed summer look; as Altuzzura showed it when the Resort 2018 collection was launched, see below. The 'take away' from her outfit is that you should definitely invest in a striped neutral dress or separate to update your SS18 wardrobe; I've chosen some of my favourites, available for a fraction of the price, on the high street, see top and bottom.
