Styling in the rain

Here I am after dropping off two drowned rats at school. My smallest one loves the rain
and refuses to wear her hood so she can catch the drops in her mouth! It's the downside
of always walking to school but as one teacher put it 'helps build character'.

I'm so wet I'm surprised my white Lee jeans aren't transparent. I wear my white jeans all year round and tell my Wardrobe Wand clients to keep everything in their wardrobe whatever the season to make each piece work harder. Click on the link to see Wardrobe Wands Facebook page.

Likewise a lot of short sleeve/sleeveless tops and t-shirts can be used to layer in Autumn/Winter and wrap dresses that you may only wear in summer can be worn later on in the year with the addition of a roll neck jumper and opaque tights.

Here I'm wearing a palette of white, pale blue and greys with a splash of yellow to brighten up the look.
Underneath the M&S cable knit jumper you can just see my Uniqlo Breton top. Then my BCBgeneration hooded rain mac that I got from TK Maxx about 2 years ago.

I'm wearing M&S  dark grey cable knee high socks to break up the white and then my leopard print Marc Jacobs wellies that I bought in New York over 10 years ago. I just love the colour combination and haven't yet found a pair of wellingtons I like as much to replace them.

My monochrome 'Lip' umbrella is by Lulu Guinness which I couldn't resist even though I can't always use it due to all the paraphernalia I'm usually holding on the school run!
