Obviously if you're going for a dip them make-up will be minimal but I swear by my eyelash curlers to give me a wide awake look without having to wear mascara. I've also been using Garnier's BB cream with tint and SPF factor 30 for a few years now, great if you want to add some colour pre tan.
I always wear a coral nail polish on my toes for holiday, as I've just found it to be the most versatile of shades and goes with whatever you wear. Re jewellery I've been on the lookout for something fine and dainty but also with a touch of colour so this Z for Accessorize bracelet fits the bill perfectly, adding just enough glint poolside.
Personally I'm not a fan of reflective or mirrored sunglasses opting for nude or oversized frames but it's a key trend this summer and were a popular holiday style.
I love a good book and always pack a few paperbacks; as it's only available in harback I didn't opt for Harper Lee's long awaited novel 'Go set a watchman' but it's top of my summer reading list.
Panama and fedora styles were the hats 'de rigueur' and I love Prymal's coloured straw hats at Very Exclusive. As far as bikinis and swimsuits go 'Beach Cafe' is my one stop online store of choice as it has a handy scroll down menu for specific needs to help find your perfect fit. It's also where I found this gorgeous on trend broderie anglaise dress by Melissa Odabash.
I love chambray on holiday and this romper from J.Crew is a great beach cover up and can double up as a perfect sightseeing outfit.
Havaianas are still the only brand of flip flops to be seen in and the metallic styles are perfect for relaxed glamour evening looks too. Talking of after sunset dressing this bright neon clutch adds interest as well as ticking off a few summer trend boxes.
