I think navy is a more versatile neutral than black and as we age black is less flattering to wear next to the face as it can be draining. That's why layering a lighter shirt under a dark knit or wearing a lighter shade of scarf is a good trick in the Autumn.
Today I layered in earnest with my Uniqlo checked shirt, cotton cable navy jumper by Gharani Strok, Deane & White ombre cashmere scarf, both from TK Maxx and Zara khaki gilet. Zara skinny distressed jeans, Uterque black buckle ankle boots and Coccinelle burgundy cross body bag, all last year or last season, finished my look.
I'm lucky to live on the coast and so what better way to shake off the cobwebs than a brisk walk beside the sea before pick up....another blue that I won't tire of.
