Many moons ago, on a buying trip to South Korea, my agent asked if I'd like to visit a revered Buddhist he knew, that would also talk to me about my future. I don't like to say fortune teller....more a spiritual guide, or a man that had worldly wisdom. Whatever, I was intrigued and a meeting was arranged.
Calming would be the word to describe the overall experience. I was almost spell bound in his company, he was that centred, with the most incredible energy. I will always remember him saying that I would not meet my future life partner wearing red. It struck me as an odd thing to say at the time but once home I realised that my favourite 'go to' going out top was a sleeveless, satin, side fastening pussy bow neckline, number in ,yes you've guessed it, a deep crimson red!
Did I truly believe what I'd been told? No. Did I stop wearing my red top on nights out with the girls whilst single? Yes. Did I meet my now hubby wearing red? Nope.
So here we are over a decade later and red is everywhere this AW. Valentino, Max Mara, Victoria Beckham were just some of the designers to showcase this shade for their AW17 Ready to wear collections; and I want to wear it! I'm especially loving the red and berries combination and want to embrace tonal dressing. Surely it's safe now I've got 'a ring on it'??
