Traditionally worn by fisherman the Aran jumper takes it's name from the set of Islands off the West coast of Ireland where the thick cable designed garment is said to originate from. Each design was a closely guarded secret and represented certain clans. If there was an accident at sea the patterned jumper was a way to identify bodies washed up on shore. Fast forward a few generations and the high street is still awash with copies.
Today I'm wearing a recent purchase from none other than TK Maxx, a Gharani Strok London 100% cotton navy cable knit jumper. I love the split side hem detail with poppers and fitted shape. I find a lot of my knitwear, especially cashmere, in TK Maxx however this jumper is not on their website but may still be available in store,
I've put a black Zara strappy vest underneath and I've teamed it with my White Company grey cargo pants. My light grey low Converse with lime trim and laces are from last year but see below for my choice from this seasons collection. A tip to refresh any pair of Converse is to replace the original laces with a bright or neon pair. Click this link to go to 'The Shoe Lace' website for a selection.
Outerwear today is my M&S hooded waxed parka. As their sale has ended it's not on their website so I've picked an Oasis wax parka that's similar. Today I'm sporting my newest Mavala nail polish in Duchess Rose which is a natural light pink shade to help me looked groomed even when it's slightly chipped!
