Most guests prefer to wear a feminine dress, rather than separates, so then I would play up your best features when picking a suitable style; great legs? then go for a shorter dress, tall? then go maxi, lithe arms? then go sleeveless etc.
I feel the mood this season is still romantic, so would opt for a longer length or maxi dress with some movement and thankfully longer sleeves are on trend, so there are more styles with a flattering three quarter length or wrist length sleeve.
Colour wise it seems pink is very much the prettiest pastel option, which is why I've plumped for this Peony pink pleated dress from Three Floors, below, for todays outfit builder.
I've shown two possible looks below, one with bronze/old gold tones on the left and shiny silver on the right and if the weather forecast isn't as glorious as today then keep a flowy trench on hand, see this floral coat from ASOS, or a Duster coat from River Island.
I've said it before but do plan ahead. As soon as the invite hits the mat start searching for a suitable look. Leave it to the last minute and those heels that you love will be sold out. Or have a good rummage through your existing wardrobe and update an old favourite with new accessories. Whatever you do don't let such a happy occasion leave you deflated when you should be celebrating. The memories you'll help to make will certainly outlive the outfit!
