It meant I had an opportunity to do a spot of retail therapy and headed to Shorehams M&S.
I was pleasantly surprised by the new AW Autograph range, which has an editorial in September's edition of Vogue. It offered classic wardrobe essentials with a quality that one used to automatically associate with M&S.
However I was less impressed, well there's always something isn't there, with the sizing of the stock on the shop floor. Considering the collection had only just hit down into stores there was hardly any 10's and for the sleeveless collared cardigan only 2 size 20's to choose from.
I had to ask the staff to disrobe a mannequin to try on a grey over coat in a size 10. In the end I actually bought the 8 as it was a better fit on the shoulders, though generally I consider myself a size 12. Yes I know it seems wrong to purchase an overcoat on a gorgeous sunny day but I bet it sells out before you can say 'Autumn/Winter'!
I also loved the chocolate cotton chunky knit jumper and pleat PU skirt, see below, ankle grazer trousers and utility shirts and shirt dresses in peach and dark khaki, but not so keen on the grey ribbed trouser set.
The range is definitely worth a look. Let's just hope they haven't sold out before you do.
Thanks for stopping by.
