Today I've got on my new Leopard print pixie ankle boots from Next; as an alternative to my Leopard print Stan Smiths, which I keep wearing! I prefer a pointed toe for this season although a lot of the on trend block heel ankle boots have a rounded toe for a sixties vibe. Anyway these have a low heel and are really comfy but because they have a pony skin texture look more expensive than their £60 price tag. I'm wearing my Mango flowy trench a lot recently too and I'm finding that the high street offer is going towards the more tailored trench, like this great red one from Zara, below. I've picked a Khaki coloured one for todays outfit builder, again from Zara, and teamed it with basic black skinny jeans, grey marl sweatshirt and a black cross body bag from Jigsaw, I've kept with the Leopard print theme with a striking block printed pocket square to add a pop of colour. Tie around your bag, as I have, or wear it as a neckerchief as styled, left. I'm also sporting a new nail shade, Brook Mews, from Nails Inc. It's a really deep blackcurrant shade and I find the one coat gel effect easy to use and the brush helps it glide on nicely. Even though it is one coat I tend to apply a second coat out of habit but then don't use a topcoat. Shop the look by clicking on the text, have a good weekend and thanks for stopping by. |

My birthday is coming up soon, I'm a true Libran for those that are even vaguely interested, and so I get asked, by well meaning friends and relatives, if there's anything I want. Well yes.....loads of things spring immediately to mind; most of which require an overwhelming amount of childcare, a Centurion Amex card or making a booking at least a year in advance!
So short of a child free, all expenses paid holiday somewhere hot I struggle to come up with anything I really want that's price appropriate and will give me pure pleasure upon opening it. So if you need present request inspiration for yourself, which is tough when we rarely give ourselves a second thought, here are my top 5 ideas: 1) Hurrah For Gin- the new book by Katie Kirby- to make me giggle and reassure me that I am indeed a normal mum, with normal kids! 2) To go with the aforementioned book of course you'll require a Premium Gin. Pinkster is my current favourite, with Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic water and if they really want to push the boat out they could add some Mint sprigs for a DIY treat. 3) An annual magazine subscription. I used to think nothing of buying 4/5 Fashion magazines a month, that is until we moved into the family home; there were so many that they may have had their own removal van. Hubby was aghast- "Why did I need to keep them? I would never read them! They would never become a Collectors item and should be recycled NOW" The compromise was I kept editions of Vogue, Elle and the now defunct Easy Living which inhabit the very top shelf of our bespoke bookcase collecting dust. Now I prefer Woman & Home, which confirms the passing of time, but I don't buy it on a regular basis, so would love it to appear on my doormat automatically. 4) The newest Nails Inc. nail polish. Let's face it a manicure requires planning, so although I'd gratefully receive a mani beauty voucher I probably wouldn't book it within the designated time so not only would it expire it would be a total waste of money. So the fashionable fallback would be to purchase the latest shade to hit the shelves, for another DIY treat. 5) A framed photo or better still a collated, memory provoking, ready to flick through photo album.... I say this because a close, long term friend compiled an album of our best moments together for my 30th birthday and it brought tears to my eyes, it was so thoughtful. Now 16 years on it would mean even more to me knowing just how much time it would take! I haven't even got the time to organise my mobile phone pics into folders. So there you have it this years birthday wish list. Thankfully my hubby won't need to read it as he has already outdone himself by booking us a weekend away in Copenhagen! (He must have read last years post x) Click on the links to shop and thanks for stopping by. The sun is shining so that means the white jean is still relevant even in October! Here I've paired them with a Uniqlo cashmere jumper, Mi Stan Smiths, note the grey laces, Mango flowy trench, Coccinelle cross body bag with scarf, and Marni nude sunglasses, everything you've seen before!
These white jeans are the Scarlett style from Lee but as they don't have any shading, wash detail or distressing the plain white jean isn't the easiest denim to add to your wardrobe, highlighting any dimply area you can always hide in a dark skinny jean, hence the oversized jumper and trench layering today. See my White Jean pins at Mumsweardaily on Pinterest here. That said this outfit does add a lightness to an Autumnal day and makes me still think of Summer. I'm also determined to keep my post holiday glow and have just purchased the much lauded liquid bronzer from Benefit, 'Dew the Hoola', and as it's the liquid version of the UK's bestselling bronzer 'Hoola'. (See the other best bronzers here at Vogue.co.uk) I'm hoping it lives up to the hype. See also How to do Winter Bronzer tips here at Sheerluxe.com.
