When I saw it I remember thinking what a great layering piece it was and then when I picked it up and felt it was 100% cashmere didn't hesitate in buying it. I tend to wear a denim shirt, check shirt or striped long sleeve t-shirt under it. Today I've teamed it with my Uniqlo breton top which is a heavier cotton and not too flimsy for this time of year.
I'm also wearing my Lee white skinny jeans, M&S cotton parka, G-star grey slouch suede ankle boots and D&Y Aztec pattern scarf both from TK Maxx.
Sadly I can't find anything like my cashmere popover in store now. So a word to the wise, when out clothes shopping if you see something that you can already imagine in your wardrobe in various outfit combinations then it's a keeper.
Of course there will always be items you see and love but just take a minute to think of them alongside pieces you already own. How many times are you really going to wear designer sky high heels or an embellished cocktail dress that costs the earth?
I don't want to take the fun out of fashion and I'm certainly not expecting all purchases to be functional rather than frivolous but this is a blog about everyday style after all. Isn't it better to have more hard working items in your wardrobe than, according to statistics, the other 80% of clothes that languish around and never get worn!
