So we're counting down the days until the official start of the new season; 22nd September is when the Autumn begins. Today I'm wearing my metallic sandals but it won't be long before they are finding their way to the back of the wardrobe once more.

So I thought I'd reflect over the things I actually did this Summer before it all becomes a distant memory.

5 things I did this Summer:

1. I wore my Ripcurl wetsuit, see similar here, for the first time SUP boarding in East Preston. Not the most flattering attire but worn with an air of confidence; plus it didn't get wet and yes I was actually standing!

2. Played Dua Lipa non stop in the car; remembering going into HMV earlier in the year asking for her album, feeling a bit dejected when the assistants hadn't heard of her, to later discover her album was yet to be released.......then just recently she became the first solo female to have a Number 1 single since Adeles 'Hello'. My music taste validated!

3. I ate a lot of fresh fish on holiday; which is easy to do in Greece, Eagles Palace, Halkidiki, with my favourite sea bream and octopus aplenty. So healthy when accompanied by a huge Greek salad, well if you forget about the bottle of Peloponnese white wine, Salto, the hubby and I discovered..... and drank every night.

4. I put on about a stone. See above, as well as having a Mr Whippy with the kids now and then, well it was the holidays. That and the fact it's harder to stick to an exercise plan when the children are by your side most days.

5. I read 6 books....one of my favourite pastimes when I get the chance. Hot Milk by Deborah Levy, Swimming Lessons by Claire Fuller, Option B by Sheryl Sandberg and Adam Grant, The Girlfriend by Michelle Francis, Birdcage Walk by Helen Dumore and Our Endless Numbered Days by Claire Fuller, after having loved Swimming Lessons! clairefuller.co.uk/swimming-lessons/Visit the authors website here.

I also started Sapiens, a brief history of humankind by Yuval Noah Harari but as it's not so brief I've yet to finish it.

So so long Summer, it was nice while it lasted and I'm now gearing up to purchase my first few AW pieces , with a sock heeled boot firmly at the top of my list! No outfit builder today but do take a look at Massimo Dutti for a long sleeve T-shirt with interest detail, as the Sandro top I'm wearing here has a lace open back detail which helps elevate the overall look.
