This was actually a pic from last week when I had a terrible head cold and clearly not looking my best! Anyway my old M&S collection chambray culottes came in handy as they were both airy for when it was more humid and gave enough coverage when it turned mild. 

I've seen a lot of denim or chambray culottes this season and though I must admit I prefer a block heel with them, they are practical for the school run whilst also being on trend.

Inspired by Dolce & Gabbana's colourful Sicilian folk inspired Summer catwalk collection both high end  and the high street have raided the haberdashery section for braiding and pom-pom laden accessories.

Last year the Danish label, Cecilie Copenhagen took Instagram by storm and was the summer brand to be wearing. Browns gave it the fashion nod and the collection was an instant sell out; I did manage to bag a pair of their relaxed shorts for my holiday.

Needless to say the love in continues this season and has spawned more affordable versions of the Ikat printed, off duty separates across the high street.

Anyway whilst searching for items for todays outfit builder I came across this navy print blouse from New York label Beach Lunch Lounge, at TK Maxx. It reminded me of the heritage look at Cecilie Copenhagen and would look great with a kick flare jean and metallic platforms as styled by Matches.com in the top picture.
