Return of the mac

The wardrobe problem facing many when the summer weather is so unpredictable is what outer and footwear to wear. If you need a smarter option trainers or pumps are out and as it's too wet to get your toes out it usually comes back to a flat shoe. A ghillie pointed flat is a seasonal update on a ballet pump, as is a strappy pointed flat like the Massimo Dutti pair in my outfit builder.

Deciding on what outerwear to wear is also tricky. You don't want to get too hot in a heavier coat or jacket but when it's so windy an extra layer is appropriate. That's why the lighter mac and trench coat options have been so popular. Today I'm wearing my beige Mango flowy trench which is a fairly recent purchase, although it has now sold out, but a grey version is available.

There are so many on the high street so I've chosen three of my favourite alternatives to the Mango trench. 1) Zara's chambray mac 2) H&M's lovely linen trenchcoat and if you're looking for an occasion cover up then this 3) Freepeople floral lace trench is great for weddings or the races.

I've layered a grey vest top under my H&M diamante detail denim shirt and worn them with my black Zara skinny jeans. My two tone shoes with a snake print back are BCBGeneration from TK Maxx.  See my outfit builder below for similar products and click on the descriptive text to shop.

Thanks for stopping by.
