Today is Armistice day, otherwise known as Remembrance day, when we remember those that have fallen by donning poppies, which bloomed across some of the worst battlefields of World War I.

So it seemed fitting to do a feature on the brilliant 'Poppy' red items new in at Zara.

Red has been a strong trend for this season and darker shades can be really flattering for brunettes and blondes alike. I love the simple silhouette of the coat with pockets and at this time of year a coloured coat will make you smile in the morning. It also goes perfectly with the darker greys and deep navy seperates that may already in your wardrobe.

Frills have been everywhere too this AW and this slinky blouse is so wearable for evening, giving enough drama to be noticed without being too 'Strictly come dancing' flamenco; and if that wasn't enough the sateen dress with flowing uneven hem skirt looks like it was inspired by the red cape of the 'Paso Doble'!

If it's an easy top you're after then this knot front is a subtle detail that will give your casual outfits an update, as this colour is great worn with denim too.
