It was refreshing to learn about the newer brands challenging their market share for the larger lady who seemed to embrace their customer, whatever their shape and size, and understand their fashion needs.
It was great to learn that 'Yours' was also more progressive by turning to the most popular and gorgeous plus size blogger Tess Holliday for their marketing campaign, as she promotes positive body confidence.
It's a growing market and one that shouldn't be under represented on the high street. However I also think that those brands that cater for a plus size woman should employ more of their target customer in head offices, to give an authentic leaning to the design and buying process. Just saying!
Back to todays outfit and what do you wear to stay cool but look smart enough for work, albeit the type of work where you can get away with wearing a soft ripped jean anyway!
This dilemma is solved by wearing a double layer of silk. My silk cami is old from French Connection but they still offer the same style and my silk blouse is from Uniqlo. Mine has a grown on collar and whilst they still have a great offer of silk shirts this one is no longer available. I've teamed them with my Zara skinny jeans, black Reiss belt and Nine West cut out black leather sandals.
In my outfit builder I have chosen a ghillie sandal ( a tongueless style with lacing on the instep, don't you know!) from Topshop, an update on my cutout style.
To add a smidge of colour I'm wearing my Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses which are very old from TK Maxx.
