Gym is a tonic on 'Blue Monday'!

Today is 'Blue Monday', supposedly the most depressing day of the year. Well even more reason to grab your gym clothes and work out any way you see fit! Cycling, running, walking and swimming are among the most effective in boosting your serotonin levels, which help regulate mood, appetite and sleep, however any regular exercise will help your general well being.

I'm loving Hotpod Yoga, which I haven't done for a while now, I won't bore you with excuses, but I'm looking forward to committing a slot to it weekly, as it really does clear my mind and relaxes my body. Obviously I've been walking a lot more with the puppy and it does get you out in all weathers, like it or not; the benefits of that is I get to the beach more often, something I've taken for granted since living by the sea.

I'm still wearing old kit, nothing new here, apart from my cable knit hat which was a Christmas present, as I'm still trying to buy less and make do with what I already own. Sweaty Betty fleece top which I still love, see a new version below in todays outfit builder, leggings and Nike trainers from TK Maxx, Uniqlo ultra light down stretch coat and Herve Chapelier bag make up my look here.

With awareness of single use plastic currently in the news I've included Adidas x Parley Ultraboost shoes, which are made from recycled ocean plastic, in todays outfit builder. I've also chosen product by Adidas by Stella McCartney, as a designer really making an impact on the fashion industry by promoting sustainability and 'circular' textiles, and shown a bottle by S'well, a US brand committed to reducing single use plastic consumption.

There is definitely a sea change regarding sustainability in the fashion industry, the second biggest polluter of the environment, after the oil industry, and as consumers we need to make informed decisions when purchasing. Most of the product I choose to show in my blog has longevity, and I vere towards more classic or 'slow' fashion items rather than fast, faddy fashion which is as bad for the environment as some fatty fast foods can be for your health.

So on this 'Blue' Monday I urge you to get out and about and exercise and think of our 'Blue Planet' by not buying anything from my post! Thanks for stopping by.
