Modern Rarity Silk Lace Cami Top £65
I've often worn a silk camisole under a knit in winter. It's more comfortable against my skin, especially if it has mohair or angora in the composition, as well as adding some extra detail at the neck if I'm wearing a cashmere V neck style.

My wardrobe favourite has been a silk and lace edged camisole from Massimo Dutti; however as it's a delicate fabric it's now showing signs of wear & tear and I wanted to replace it. So my search began for a stylish substitute. Massimo Dutti now offer a silk cami with delicate openwork detail, £49.95, see below, although it's nice enough it was too plain for what I wanted so I carried on trawling the net.

It was quite by accident that I came across a version by Modern Rarity, exclusive to John Lewis & Partners. I thought they were reasonably priced at £65, compared to some other brands, so ordered both the Blackcurrant and Vanilla colours. Made of 100% medium weight silk and with adjustable straps the split lace hem detail is just long enough and the overlay at the neck is deep enough to peep out from a sweater; it can also be worn alone as a top, as shown in the styling shots above, but I'm not that brave!

Uterque Lace top £69
As I was happy with the Modern Rarity silk cami I was going to order the Blue Steel colour as well, as it was navy that I originally needed. However on my recent trip to Barcelona I had popped into Uterque and seen this silk lace top, above, which I immediately bought!

Recent Mango purchases in Barcelona

6/11/2018

No trip to Barcelona is complete without a quick stop in its home grown label Mango. So after a whirlwind weekend of sampling some gastronomic delights at a few well known eateries, Tapas 24 and Estimar, not to mention churros at artisan chocolatier Petritxol Xcocoa, and a stay at luxurious 'home from home' Soho House, it was only in the departure lounge that I found the time to browse their store.

In previous posts I've commented that Mango are giving Inditex, parent company of Zara, a run for their money; and it didn't disappoint. I purchased a navy longline jacket in the sale, a pair of Leopard print low heeled boots and some corduroy joggers. I also contemplated buying a corduroy jacket and leopard print bumbag but decided against it with my hand luggage already bulging.

See my purchases below as well as a Mango only 'top to toe' look for todays outfit builder; perfect for sightseeing, if you happen to be travelling to this gorgeous Spanish city soon!
