'We're having a heatwave...' sang Marilyn Monroe and whilst the news headlines would have us believe one is on it's way the met office do not offer an official definition of a heatwave in the UK.....as temperatures don't reach anything like those seen in the US or Australia!

It will be hotter though, with temperatures rising throughout the week, so keeping cool whilst looking polished becomes a wardrobe conundrum. Today I'm wearing a silk vest from French Connection and loose printed Daphnea trousers from TK Maxx. Note: I prefer to wear a strapless bra with a lower neckline camisole or a neon bra if you're likely to see a flash of the shoulder straps. 

I've teamed them with my old Reiss rope tie up espadrilles, as I love the two tone sole. Natural looking finger polish today and if I'd had time I would have matched the hot pink in the trouser with my toe polish but I had some ironing to attend to last night! Oversized black sunglasses finish the look. 

For my morning make-up routine I always wear Garnier Ambre Solaire BB cream with an SPF of 30 which means I don't get caught out if I do catch some rays on the school run.

Glastonbury is in full swing and nothing screams festival style more than a pair of cut off denim shorts. Although I'm not off to see the controversial headline act Kayne, on the Pyramid stage, this Saturday my outfit builder has been inspired by the UK's largest music festival, come rain or shine!
