If I could only wear clothes from one retailer this SS I would have to choose Massimo Dutti. I know I'm always sporting a skinny jean but I hanker after their effortless tailoring and sophisticated separates.

​I recently spotted the Green bomber jacket in store and know that, if you purchase online, the weight, quality and vibrant shade won't disappoint. As it's from the Inditex stable this Spanish label is the grown up Zara; and if you believe the results of a recent survey those of us over the age of 27 should be searching for less 'junior' brands.

I also love the white, ecru and ivory styling for Summer, if you think you can maintain it. These linen chinos kick M&S mainstay linen offering into touch and the white shirt dress is office appropriate as well as a simple vacay evening look; and what's not to love abut a popover, crisp white shirt?

If you read my blog regularly you'll know I was lucky enough to be in Dubai last week and there was a certain style of espadrille that kept catching my eye. As Dubai is home to the biggest mall in the world, the Dubai mall, with it's flagship Chanel store, it should have come as no surprise that, on closer inspection, the espadrille in question was stamped with the iconic double C logo, above left.

Of course even the humble espadrille, when given the Karl Lagerfeld treatment, head designer and creative director at the infamous Parisian fashion house, comes with an eye watering price tag of £465!  ​

So I've found two purse friendly versions, that from a distance will cut the mustard; the & Other Stories Leather and suede espadrille also comes in all black and the Office Lucky espadrille, a great colour match to the Chanel original, is also available in black with a white leather toe cap.

I've said Goodbye to Dubai and it was back to the school run this morning. So what do you don when back from a sun filled beach holiday? Why a white blazer of course to show off the tan! Only I don't have much of one and I'd say a 'glow' was pushing it.

For those of you that have ever been to Dubai, after April and before October, will know just what a struggle it is to lie in that intense heat; unless of course you've got teflon skin or have an envious skin tone a darker shade of mocha!

So my efforts were reduced to an hour upon waking, approx 8.30am, and an hour or so after 5pm, with the cutoff bathing point being a glorious sunset at 6.30pm.

Anyway my off white Massimo Dutti Blazer still came out today, worn over an easy to throw on, all black outfit. Lee Skinny Jeans from TK Maxx with a DIY Raw Edge, see left, H&M T-shirt with pocket and Zara Leather Slip on frayed espadrilles. When you stick to mainly one colour make sure you add texture, like this plaited belt or woven leather bag, so it isn't too flat looking.
