I now own quite a bit of Uniqlo; opting to buy my cashmere jumpers, heat tech thermals and down lightweight coats from there.

My latest purchase was this dark green light down compact coat, without a hood. I also treated myself to a Sol Lewitt, MoMA special edition light down vest to wear underneath when it gets really cold, see left. and at £39.90 it's a stylish way to beat the chill!

I'm also wearing my new Uggs, which I bought to replace my tan pair, which unfortunately are no longer waterproof.

Everything else I've shown before; Cocinelle cross body bag, H&M light blue flannel shirt, Zara Oversized cashmere scarf, Lulu Guinness Umbrella and Lee Scarlett jeans which are available at TK Maxx for a bargain £34.99.

It's all about tonal dressing for SS18; with pinks, blues and lilacs the key shades from the ready to wear  catwalk shows. My favourite hue being lilac; which is set to be one of the most popular pastels.

Here are some of my favourite picks, from under a tenner to over a grand! Buy now for an instant SS colour update. If you need more convincing then see these articles featuring the pastel trend with Lilac the front-runner!; Instyle: Why purple is the colour of Spring 2018, Harpers Bazaar 10 Spring Summer 2018 Trends to start wearing now and Marie Claire SS18 Trend Report and if you want to know how to wear it confidently then look no further than Tibi, one of my favourite shows for easy to replicate outfits!

I'm planning a ski trip soon and so did a quick inventory check of my existing ski stuff at the weekend. I admitted defeat to the size 12 ski pants I've been wearing with the zip half mast the past two years hoping no one would notice; so scoured the internet to find a great pair of size 14 Colmar Soft shell ski pants in the sale at Sports Direct which I ordered.

My favourite base layers from Sweaty Betty had seen the inside of the tumble dryer, courtesy of the husband, and were only fit for a Sindy doll; I had bought replacements last year ,but nothing I loved as much, so when I saw the new season Merino Zip Through cardigan I treated myself to that and some matching leggings too. These are shown in todays outfit builder below.

I also bought the Sweaty Betty Anon Lynx Ski helmet as, now we tend to go skiing annually, I'd rather own my own than have a bun fight for a decent helmet with straps in working order; also my head size tends to be the most popular and so I've had to endure tension headaches where I've had to go a size smaller, not the best solution on the slopes but better to be safe than sorry!

My Colmar jacket is still good and fits well, with flattering shaping side seams so I don't look humungous and my ski socks from Kari Traa give my black and white core palette a pop of pink neon! However I've discovered this fab brand of ski socks 'Stance' so I've added a pair to todays outfit builder. For more best ski socks of 2018 check out this gear guide from The Telegraph.

I bought a pair of Sorel Glacy Explorer boots last year so will be schlepping around in those but I do love the stylish, shortie Moon boots which I've chosen below, and as Uggs are having a mini fashion revival I've shown their 'Viki Waterproof Lace up Boots' , above left, now £126 at veryexclusive.co,uk.
