A spring in my step!

So it's official, Spring is here and I've shed my coat and am doing layered knits instead. With images of bright sunny daffodils and bouncing lambs in my mind I pulled out my chocolate merino wool cowl neck jumper, which is branded 'Les Folies' and is made in Italy. Of course I bought it in TK Maxx where a lot of my knitwear is from.

I tend to look at the composition label of knitwear before I buy. If it's a high content or 100% Merino wool I know it's a good bet. Merino is a breed of sheep that is known to have one of the toughest yet softest and finest wool and they need to be sheared at least once a year as it's wool doesn't stop growing. The fine fibers mean it's great at regulating body temperature, hence it being used widely in performance sportswear, and because it's not a chunky yarn is great for Spring layering.

There wasn't much choice of merino wool jumpers available now as most brands are launching their summer ranges. Below is a grey cowl neck jumper from East, in the sale at John Lewis!

I'm also wearing my M&S multicoloured shawl, Accessorize tan leather belt and H&M grey cotton vest under my jumper, well it's not that warm! My jeans are a new purchase from Zara and as the trend for ripped jeans continues I've gone for a soft ripped look rather than the 'shredded' look a lot of celebrities have been seen wearing. My grey suede ankle boots are G-Star from TK Maxx so I've selected a similar pair from Next.
