Like anything in your closet the better the quality the longer it should last you and so, although I wouldn't necessarily buy designer, I would always spend the most I can afford on the wardrobe big ticket items; think wool overcoat, swiss watch, leather work bag, little black dress, heeled pumps and obviously the hardworking Leather jacket.
This is how I wore mine today; grey M&S cashmere hoodie, Zara basic V neck t-shirt, Topshop Neppy joggers, KYI KYI pom pom knit hat, Coccinelle cross body bag, Reiss Collarless Leather jacket, and white leather Mi Stan Smiths, all old bar the Zara Basic black T-shirt that I bought a couple of months ago!
See todays outfit builder below for a similar look; surprised that Topshop offer a luxe cashmere hoodie, who knew, with matching joggers too if you're interested! I love the colours and scale of the oversized pom pom on this NEW in Zara hat, and the Signet cross body bag from J.Crew makes a welcome change to my Coccinelle Clessidra bag.
Net-A-Porter have an update on the Stan Smith classic leather sneakers with a sliced, cross-hatch effect and red suede heel patch to stand out from the rest of the Stan Smith lovers!
Back to the Black Leather Biker and I've chosen one from Reiss; the leather is a premium grade with a soft butter finish, and although it is more expensive than the high street offer I've researched, it is a 'quality' product, that will stand the test of time.
